Looking out for Dry Land Taking my time, riding a wave, I’m drowning In the rays of a wonderful sun If life was a beach, the devil would preach, I’m frowning Without a balance, it wouldn’t be any fun I smoke when I drink, I talk when I think, I’m crazy I’m just scared by my point of view I got wheels on my shoes, wheels on my bags, I’m lazy Don’t even answer the phone unless it’s you We can all talk a big game until we are sleeping Toss and turn, spitting out the secrets we are keeping There’s garbage all around, the piles they are heaping We all know what you sow is what you’re reaping. Headed out of town, jump on the freeway Turn the radio on, hit the cruise control If I’m driving too slow, I’m sorry for the delay I got a pocket of change that could satisfy any toll Someday we will get to where we’re going If we run out of land, we’ll take a boat to sea We haven’t slept for days and it’s showing But if we fall asleep we might miss a moment or three Praying for rain, looking out for dry land I hope to God we find ourselves and island Somewhere off the coast of Thailand I hope to God we find ourselves and island We haven’t slept for days and it’s showing Maybe someday we’ll get to where we’re going We talk a big game until we are sleeping Toss and turn spitting out the secrets we are keeping Time flies by when all your years are leaping We all know what you sow is what you’re reaping
2.
Dinosaur Blood Well it feels like the end of it all The sirens are starting to call Gotta find a way to survive We’re running out of flame It’s time to revive I see you digging deep, deep down in the mud I said “What you lookin’ for” you said “Dinosaur Blood” We keep on driving, we keep on chugging along, Choking up the sky with the dust of the dinosaur bones. We can only grow when the ashes of desire Replenish the earth with a baptism of fire Let’s wipe that slate real clean Maybe this time we’ll figure out What this life really means…..YEAH.
3.
Trickle Down There’s a war for you mind, there’s a war for your soul Demons of greed with the most dishonorable goals There’s a time to listen, there’s a time to talk Right now we must stand up and take a walk There can be no peace until there is justice There can be no justice until we take a stand Against the bad man they put up on your tv They tell you he’s good, saying “wait for the money trickle down” With starvations, it’s a great motivation, Saying it’s the poor man’s fault while they’re laughing on their way To the bank that holds your money hostage, makes their wallet swell While the rest of us are living in hell Let’s hope this time, the message is clear No longer we cower down or tremble in fear We got the truth, no longer we slumber We got the data and facts, and we got the numbers There can be no peace until there is justice There can be no justice until we take a stand Against the bad man they put up on your tv They tell you he’s good, saying “wait for the money trickle down” With starvations, it’s a great motivation Saying “you should get a job” while they move it overseas To Malaysia or somewhere in Asia, sell it back to you as a Radio or color T.V.
4.
Caving In Roll up your sleeves and get to work Resist the urge to be a jerk What we’re waiting for is something real What we’re dying for is something to feel I can’t be blamed for everything Give me something that tangible Hit me with a truth that’s undeniable Perhaps a little bit maniacal Lest we say it’s diabolical Might even touch upon the biblical Make it spiritual, metaphysical It makes me feel all whimsical Like a kid with a popsicle I’m trying hard to comprehend I feel my brain caving in
5.
Mama Said I don’t know why you fussing all the time Ain’t got no time to listen to you whine Brush them teeth in your head Turn out the light and get in bed Your mama said, your mama said go to bed Your mother and I need some time to ourselves We got some things to do and we don’t need any help It’s a quarter after nine, ain’t got no time to read a book Honey child you got school in the morning, don’t you give me that look Brush them teeth in your head, turn out the light and get in bed Your mama said, your mama said go to bed Now don’t you be disrespecting your mother and me We got to get some sleep ourselves, but first we’re gonna watch some adult T.V. Something not PG
